Travel Make Up - Las Vegas

Today I thought I would share with you the few too many products that I took with me to Las Vegas.
Porefessional - I use this before foundation around my nose area to help disguise bigger pores.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer - I picked this up in the airport because I couldn't resist the tiny tube. I don't use it often but when I do it works wonders smoothing out my skin.

Bourjois Healthy Mix - I took this foundation along because it's great if I want a light coverage. It's really lovely to work with and gives a healthy dewy glow.

Revlon Colour Stay - I use this foundation if I want a heavier coverage. You can definitely build it up to full coverage and it lasts a long time. Incase you were wondering, I use the combination version.

Collection Lasting Perfection - My 100% holy grail concealer. Nothing covers blemishes and dark circles better than this.

Maybelline Master Sculpt - This contour shade is brilliant. It's so matte and natural unlike so many shades out on the market.

Rockateur Blush - I got this in my Benefit advent calendar last year and I absolutely love it. It's a soft pink colour with very little shimmer making it very universal.

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer - The most beautiful champagne highlighter to ever grace my dressing table.

Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray - This was great to use while I was away because most of the time i wanted my make up to last all day. I didn't take a powder because I knew that this would be able to set my make up and stop it slipping around my face.
Make Up Revolution Palette in Flawless Matte - Can we all just take a moment to appreciate this palette. The combination possibilities are endless and the shadows are have a great opacity. I took this as oppose to my Naked 2 palette because there's so much more variety and I'm loving matte eyeshadows at the moment.

Urban Decay Primer Potion - This keeps my shadows in place all day and acts as a great base.

Benefit Brow Zings - I've been using this for about two years now to do my eyebrows and I love it just as much as the first time I tried it.

Rimmel Brow This Way - I like this just to keep my brows neat, I have it in the shade lighter so there's a nice dept to my brows.

Maybelline Lash Sensational - This mascara is perfect for lengthening lashes and holds a curl all day. I always make sure I buy the waterproof version just in case.

Fleur De Force Fleur Loves Lashes - These have quickly become my go to lashes. I've bought them for every occasion since their release and I get so many compliments when I wear them. They're more of a 3/4 lash so sit nice and snug.
Lush Bubblegum Scrub - Brilliant for removing dead skin from the lips and also tastes like a dream (not that I would recommend eating it).

Kate for Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipsticks - 20 is the bright pink shade, I love that for sunnier days, especially if my outfit is more black and white. 30 is a dark plum colour, it's absolutely beautiful with a simple eye look, 08 is the nude colour and works well with any outfit in any weather, anywhere. It's so versatile.

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liners - Addiction is the more taupe/brown colour. It's a great base and I usually wear it underneath the 08 Kate shade. Eastend Snob is the pink shade and I either wear this on it's own or under pretty much every other pink or red lipstick. They're my staples.

Nivea Essential Care and Vaseline Lip Therapy - Lip balm is a must. Always.

I really hope you enjoyed seeing what I took with me on holiday. If you have any travel staples, let me know!

5 Tips For Travelling To Las Vegas

You may or may not know that I traveled to Las Vegas to celebrate my 21st birthday. It's a place I'd always wanted to go but I'd never been old enough, until this year. So, I roped my best girls up and we had the best 5 days taking in the city and sipping a cocktail or 12.

Now I know there are a lot of tips and tricks blog posts and videos out there for Las Vegas but I found everyone has different experiences and therefore has different things to say. Today, I thought I'd share with you my top 5 tips to consider when travelling to Sin City.
1. Distances are deceiving

As it was a warm and sunny day, we thought nothing of stepping off a Gondola ride at The Venetian and walking to the Bellagio to see the fountains - We regretted it almost instantly. Because of the size of the hotels they look very close together, however what was supposed to be a relaxing walk turned into 25 minutes of absolute sweat and very achy feet.

My advice would be to PLAN your route before hand. Almost, if not every hotel on the strip has wifi and an information desk available so before you leave one to go to another, stop and plan a walking route (or Uber ride if you're like me!). Also as the hotels are all air conditioned, it's better to walk through if you can - you can get from Excalibur to Mandalay Bay without going outside. Plus, it's worth it to be out of the sun!

2. Plan your bag for the day

By this I mean make sure you've always got sun cream, water and a jacket in your bag because you never know what you're going to get up to.

Even though it was overcast when we visited, you can still feel the sun through the clouds and it's so much better to pop some emergency sun cream on than to look like a ripe tomato under the city lights. A jacket is a great idea, firstly because hotels blast the air conditioning like god knows what and secondly because I found as soon as the sun went down, the breeze came with a vengeance. Whilst planning your bag, also plan the best shoes to wear, especially if you're walking all day.
3. Taxi's can be a rip off

Right from your arrival at the airport, Limousine drivers will be trying to hustle you in for a trip that can cost easily $100 and that's just to get to your hotel. Unless that's how you want to start your trip then it's definitely worth telling them you already have a ride sorted even if you don't.

That in mind, you can now either go and get a taxi, get the bus, hitch a ride (not recommended) or whatever else you feel like doing. We got the bus, it worked out to about $9 each and arrived super quick and dropped us at the hotel door.

Taxi's can be a dangerous game. I've heard stories from friends of taxi drivers charging $40 to take them from the airport to the hotel because they've taken a detour on the sly. ALWAYS tell them you've been to Vegas before and if they ask which route you want to take, tell them 'The freeway' then wing it. You'll save half of the time and money, trust me.

I had zero intention of catching a taxi while in Vegas so I gave Uber a whirl. I'd used it in Manchester and Leeds so thought it'd be pretty simila - It worked WONDERS. It does use wifi or mobile data to find your location etc but as most hotels and restaurants have wifi, it's really not an issue. You can see a fare estimate so you pretty much know how much you're paying before you set off and also, all of the drivers details are listed inmcase you're stuck looking for one black car in front of an extremely busy hotel.

An Uber tip would definitely be to take into consideration the pick up locations. The app will list it for you, you just have to make sure you find it. We stayed at the Luxor so the pick up location was the North Tour Lobby. This was fine but we were on the 24th floor on the other side of the hotel. I found it always best to book when we were near the door! That way you avoid a charge for either being late or missing the ride all together. Also, remember to tip your driver at the end of your trip.

4. Get out of town
Sure, you're in Vegas to see the hotels, go to clubs and gamble in the casinos but there's so much more it has to offer. Heading Downtown were two of the best nights we had in Vegas. It's much more casual and the drinks are dirt cheap in happy hour which makes it the perfect place to have a tipple or two. It was also the only place we could find a decent spot to sit outside so that was a bonus.

We also took a trip over to the Grand Canyon which was hands down, the best experience of my life. It was a really sunny day and we had the best helicopter pilot and it was crazy that something as amazing as that was right on the doorstep. If you've booked through a tour operator, be sure to make sure your reservation is confirmed by calling them. We made this mistake with our first booking and so we had to pay again as the third party insisted it was our fault even though nowhere stated we had to do that.

5. Have fun

I know this sounds obvious but I think people can get so caught up in making sure they see every nook and cranny of the city that they forget to actually experience it. Be sure to ride the roller-coaster at New York, New York and take the zip wire down Fremont Street. See a band at Mickie Finnz and spend some spare dollars trying to catch a lobster. Also the cocktails at the Stratosphere's Air Bar will blow your mind and there's an amazing view of the strip and the surrounding valley.
I hope you enjoyed my Vegas tips, I'm thinking of going back next year so let me know if there is anything else you recommend!

New Look Monochrome Wishlist

I'm at the point in my life where I'm finally finding my personal style because I've realised over the years that I'm not an expertly styled person and as long as I feel good in clothes, that's all that matters.

Now, I don't think 'finding your style' is anything that can be or should be forced. I've spent years dressed in all kinds of clothes (pink jeans from 2013 I'm looking at you!) and I'm happy that by wearing the more questionable items, it's helped me find what I really like.

So, to the point, I've been shopping for more clothes recently that can transition from spring into summer and when adding things items to my wishlist a couple of days ago I noticed - yes you've guessed it - everything was black and white.

It had never occurred to me before that I do actually dress in these colours all of the time. I have a rainbow of clothes in my wardrobe but black, white and definitely anything striped are the things I reach for the most.

I think what I love is the way everything can mix and match and there's no right or wrong when it comes to mixing textures. It's such a simple revelation.

So without further ado, here is my current New Look wishlist - I did purchase some of these, but the others are waiting in my basket until payday.

Let me know if you like any of these pieces and whether you think you've found your personal style!
