Kos Photo Diary

Kos Travel Diary
I've been back from Kos a grand total of five days now and I'm already feeling blue. I'm missing the sunshine and that special Greek charm but I'm excited to show you a few snippets from one of my favourite holidays. To give you some background if you haven't read my summer holiday post, we booked the holiday through Thomson and stayed in the beautiful Sensimar Oceanis Beach in Psalidi. It's a short ride away from Kos Town and it was the perfect location for a romantic getaway.

I had the most amazing time in Kos and I can't wait to visit more of the Greek islands. I could have included so much more info but you really need to see it for yourself.

Have you visited any of the Greek islands or are they on your wishlist?

Beauty Products I've Purchased For Kos

For the first time in my life, I've actually calmed down with my holiday purchases. I'm normally THAT type of person that buys everything new then either leaves them there or returns home with half empty bottles to add to my cupboard. Annoying.

This time, I thought, it's going to be different. I'm going to clamp down on what I'm actually buying and buy products that I actually don't have or need to replace.

First up is something that I've actually never purchased, texture spray. I've heard so much about these lately that I thought I'd give it a go to help with body and volume because my hair goes SO flat when I'm hot!

I know there's a lot of hate directed towards make up wipes from beauty bloggers but I don't see entirely what all the fuss is about. Yes they're not good for removing all traces of make up but for a quick swipe of mascara or pre-cleansing, they're great. More love to make up wipes.

I bought this product on a complete whim because it was 3 for £15. I'm a sucker for those types of deals. I remember having it when I was younger and I remember it having quite the placebo effect. Needless to say, we'll find out in a few days time.

Over the past few months I've really become a fan of this micellar water. I tend to sweep it across my face each morning to remove sleep dirt - which definitely is a thing. The best part has to be this ADORABLE on the go size!

If you follow me on Instagram you'll see that I used these before Leeds Festival and they were that amazing that I've picked up two more. They really do give your skin a surge of moisture which lasts for days afterwards. Fresh AF.

Deodorant. Self explanatory and absolute necessity. I like this one because it doesn't leave my armpits wet after I've put it on, doesn't leave white marks and lasts all day.

In my opinion, Fleur has absolutely nailed it when it comes to eyelashes. I usually wear the Fleur Loves ones, but I couldn't resist picking these up when they launched a few weeks ago. They're 3/4 lashes just like the Fleur Loves but they have two layers of lashes so they blend seamlessly. Genius.

Teeth whitening. Not something that I've ever been fussed on but I've started drinking more black tea lately and I can see the effect it's having on my teeth. I was recommended this by a friend and I actually really like it. I could see results after two uses - I also burnt my lip but that was my own fault.

Is it just me, or is sun-cream ridiculously expensive?! I mean, one of the brands I looked at was £16 a bottle. For sun protection! I couldn't believe it. Luckily I stumbled upon this bundle from Soltan that has two sun-creams and an after-sun and was only £13. Bargain.

And there you have it, my mini pre-holiday haul. I know there's not much here but that's kind of the point. Save more spend less and all that.

I hope you're all having a lovely day, let me know what your holiday essentials are!

Duty Free Wishlist 2016

Duty Free Wishlist
As you probably know, I'm jetting to the beautiful island of Kos this Saturday. I'm excited for the sun, beaches and cocktails, but I'm extremely excited about Duty Free. Is that sad?

I'm going to dedicate a little more time to shopping in the airport this time around so keep reading to find out what I'm hoping to get my hands on.

Skincare

For the longest time now, I'm been lusting over Kiehl's skincare products so when I found out Manchester's World Duty Free stock them, I wasted no time finding my skincare routine.

Their Healthy Skin Routine finder recommended the Midnight Recovery ConcentrateCreamy Eye Treatment With AvocadoRare Earth Pore Minimizing Lotion, and the Precision Lifting & Pore-Tightening Concentrate.

Next on my hit list are two products from Elizabeth Arden. First is their Ceramide Capsules. I tried these after picking up a gift set before Las Vegas. I fell in love instantly but there were only 10 in my little box. They make your skin feel super silky and a million dollars. Secondly is the All-Over Miracle Oil. I've heard so much about this from various beauty bloggers so I'm 100% sold on this product and I haven't even tried it.

Beauty

First on my beauty wish list is the new Benefit Brow Zings. I had the old version which was never right for my hair colour but I loved it. It's such an easy product to use and when I found out they were launching more shades and re-branding them, I knew they would be heading to my basket.

The final two products on my list are from Urban Decay. The De-Slick setting spray is my all time favourite setting spray. It works wonders for my make up and in my opinion, is in a different league to the All Nighter. I'm also in desperate need of a new Primer Potion as mine is on it's last legs. It's a product I repurchase again and again and I would never apply eyeshadow without it.

I don't have as much on this wishlist as I originally expected which my bank will thank me for but there's enough to keep me going for a little while.

I've changed the format of this wishlist compared to my last one, I hope you enjoy the more chatty format.

Let me know if you've tried any of these products, I'd love your thoughts.

Michael Kors Hamilton Review

Michael Kors Hamilton EW Satchel
There's something about the right handbag that just completes an outfit. Whether it’s high street or designer, when worn right they are the cherry on top of a great outfit.

For months, even years now, I’ve been searching for the cherry. That little piece that completes every outfit, that I take everywhere and that I love with all my heart. After years of searching, I’ve found it.

Now, Michael Kors isn’t a brand I’ve ever been drawn to, there's often too much hardware for my liking and the bags are too large for my height. Pair this with the fact that every teenage girl got one for Christmas in 2012 and you could pretty much rule me out. But not this time.

I walked into the store in Cheshire Oaks and I saw it, perched on the shelf. The perfect sized handbag, with minimal hardware and structured leather - not to mention a bargain price.

Michael Kors Hamilton EW Satchel
My little beauty is the Hamilton EW Satchel in black leather with gold hardware. It originally retailed for £285 but, wait for this, it was mine for the small price of £129! I literally couldn’t leave it there.

It has a shoulder strap, one compartment, two flat pockets and a zip pocket. Also, rather than a zip, the bag closes with a flap. Think Louis Vuitton Capucines but narrower. This means no chances of splitting or overfilling - hallelujah.

It has the lock and key detailing which I haven't seen much of - good news for me - and it also gives you the option of taking the padlock off if, like me, those types of things get on your nerves.

The quality of this bag surprised me and I’m not sure why. It feels sturdy, very well made and because of the type of leather, it won’t show signs of stretching or general wear and tear.

Michael Kors Hamilton EW Satchel
Overall, I’m absolutely in love with this bag. It’s a great size, shape and style and I’ll definitely be getting my moneys worth out of it. I did think about doing a ‘Whats In My Bag?’ but as it’s new, it’s still pretty tidy and that would be boring - watch this space.

Let me know the best bag you've purchased & why!

The Versatile Blogger Award

Hello everyone, what a crazy week it has been. Today I have a slightly different post for you. The lovely Emily over at Love Emily nominated me to take part in The Versatile Blogger Tag. The challenge is to give seven facts about yourself and nominate other bloggers to do the same. This is my first tag post so I'm super excited to take part!

I say super excited, really I was terrified because lets face it, I'm not that interesting. Any who, lets give this a whirl!

1. I LOVE Mexican food. Absolutely everything, I would literally eat it every night of the week if I could. Did someone say Fajitas?

2. I have a broad taste in music which I'm so grateful for but one of my favourite artists of all time? Meatloaf.

3. I hate bugs. Any type whether it crawls or fies, I hate it. They're fascinating don't get me wrong but just please, keep it away from me at all times.

4. I like to think of myself as some what organised, the type of person that has lists for lists and reminders to check reminders - not to be confused with control freak.

5. My favourite drink is tea in two forms - English Breakfast and Long Island.

6. The place I love more than anywhere in the world is Portugal. I visited there every year as a child and it's a place very close to my heart.

7. I blow on the rim of the milk bottle before I pour it into the cup. I know it's weird and kind of gross but I hate the little crusty floating bits ruining my tea - I should probably never make you a brew right?

And there you have it. Like I said, I'm not very interesting but hopefully my nominee are.

I nominate KaylaElla, Beautiful EarfulJessica JaneJen and Bethan.

What you guys need to do if you decide to take part is make a list of seven facts about yourself and choose your own nominees who's facts you'd like to read - If you're super nosey like me, this is a great way to get to know your fellow bloggers!

Good luck!
