Live Music In 2017

I honestly thought about writing some Valentines posts this week but, truthfully, my partner and I don't really 'celebrate' Valentines Day. We do things together all year round - gigs being some of our favourite outings. It's only February but we're starting to plan our gig calendar for 2017 and we've ended up with quite a satisfying list of shows we're already attending or ones we definitely hope to. Here's a little round up so far:-

Who: Deaf Havana
What: An alternative rock band showcasing their latest album, All These Countless Nights, their first album since 2013.
Where: Manchester Ritz, February 17th

Who: Mallory Knox
What: The best alternative rock band to come out of Cambridge with their new album, Wired, dropping on March 10th.
Where: O2 Academy Liverpool, April 1st

Who: Set It Off
What: A five piece rock band from Tampa, FL spotted by All Time Low's Alex Gaskarth way back in mid-2000s.
Where: Slam Dunk Festival Leeds, Birmingham & Hatfield, May 27th - 29th

Who: Iron Maiden
What: The one and only.
Where: Manchester Arena, May 8th

Who: Don Broco
What: A witty and very current rock band with not nearly enough appreciation
Where: Slam Dunk Festival Leeds, Birmingham & Hatfield, May 27th - 29th

Who: We Are The Ocean
What: A fantastic heavy come melodic rock band unfortunately playing their farewell dates this coming March
Where: Manchester Sound Control, March 23rd

Who: Twin Atlantic
What: Hailing from Glasgow, these four have hit alterntative rock right on the head
Where: TRNSMT Festival Glasgow, July 9th

Who: A Day To Remember
What: These guys flared my love of alternative music back in 2007 with their cover of Since U Been Gone. Not to be missed.
Where: Download Festival, Donnington Park, July 10th

Who: Jimmy Eat World
What: A classic band that I would absolutely love to see live. Check out their Bleed American album and decide for yourself.
Where: Reading and Leeds Festival, August 25th - 27th

Are you heading to any live music events this year or know some I should check out across the North West? Let me know.

Were Deaf Havana good? I LOVE their new album!

I can't wait for Slam Dunk - I've just published a post about my band recommendations for the weekend. I'm also excited to see you're heading to Download this year.

Looks like 2017 is shaping up to be a damn good year for gigs!

Slam Dunk is going to be so awesome, the line-up is so good. They seem to top it every year!
