Books I Want To Read In 2017

I'm not going lie, I've never been much of a bookworm. I mean, I read  books when I go on holiday and will probably get through a few chapters but other than that, the only things I read cover to cover are issues of Cosmopolitan.

The reasons I don't read so much are firstly because reading makes me super sleepy and secondly because if I put a book down for too long I forget what's happened. This year I'm going to change that. I've pulled together a list of books that I want to read in 2017.

Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone: Growing up, the Harry Potter books were some of my favourite to read. I remember getting this one as a gift when I was about six years old and I absolutely loved it. I'd never read a 'real book' before and felt so grown up being able to read the whole thing by myself. This copy will probably fall apart by the time I've finished reading it.

Nineteen Eighty-Four: This book was one I only came across when I was in college. It's a story about a dystopian future and the idea that everyone is watched and answers to 'Big Brother', the leader of a political party.

The Shining: Another book that I came across in college. No I've never watched the film and don't ever intend to. I've read little segments of this but never managed the whole thing.

#GirlBoss: Is it not every bloggers goal to read this book? Not only does it look undeniably appealing but it's also packed with all of Sophie's business and entrepreneurial knowledge which she gained starting up her business, Nasty Gal.

To Kill A Mockingbird: I feel very much like this is a 'cult classic' so when I saw it in Waterstones a few months ago, I knew I had to pick it up. Even though so many people talk about this book and recommend it, I actually have no idea what the plot is so I can't wait to start reading.

The Life Changing Magic of Tidying: We've all heard of this book and way back in my decluttering post I was determined to never buy it. I know how to tidy up, declutter and purge things that are unnecessary but when I was browsing through Amazon not too long ago, I thought why not.

The Trainable Cat: This was actually bought for us as kind of a joke Christmas present as our cats seem to be completely not trainable. I never actually thought about reading until the other day when it fell off the bookcase like some kind of sign. I'll let you know how I get on with this!

I know this list doesn't look long but it takes me absolutely forever to get though a book so I thought I'd set a small goal for myself. If by some miracle I manage to get through these books, I'll definitely write up another list. Seriously though, don't expect that for at-least 51 years.

Have you ever read any of these books or have any others on your read list this year?

    1. That's great news! I realised after writing this post that I'd seen it in a lot of pictures yet no one ever talks about it. I got through a few more pages before I went to sleep last night and I'm loving it so far!
